'I like the book and I like Richard Evans. He is a generous - and empathetic - man, who obviously loves the theatre and actors. He is doing everything he can to be helpful and his voice is most welcome'.
Richard Evans CDG has been casting since 1989, since working on a wide variety of productions in every media. For the 10 years prior to this, he was an actor himself and therefore writes AUDITIONS: A PRACTICAL GUIDE from knowledge and and experiences amassed on both sides of the audition table. He is a member of The Casting Directors' Guild of Great Britain and Ireland.
In addition, he has devised and presented audition and career development workshops at the Actors Centre, London; the Northern Actors' Centre, Manchester, and at many top drama and theatre schools, as well as writing 'A Casting Director's Perspective' for The Actors' Yearbook 2005 and many features and articles on audition technique and career development for newspapers and magazines. A selection of these can be found on the Articles page.
An interview with Richard, by Natalie Lambracos, was published in The Stage newspaper on 22 September 2011. Click here to read it.
